It's a great place breakfast was ehhh
Great place. Clean. Friendly staff. Very close to Lincoln Peak. Have stayed here several times now and will stay here again.
Unwelcoming and overpriced. We were accused of smoking in the room, harassed by the owners on multiple occasions, and treated like children. To elaborate on the false accusations: the staff knocked on our door the first morning, accused us of smoking in the room and said if they smell smoke again we would be the first to be kicked out. The woman was demeaning and spoke to my boyfriend like he was a petulant child. The cleaning staff then left a note on our bed stating that we would be charged 200 dollars and kicked out if we smoke in the room. When we returned after a day of skiing another staff member mentioned the smoking to me. I informed him that we were not smoking. The next morning we were harassed again by the staff; she insisted we open the door right away even though we were trying to get dressed. Again, we were accused of smoking in the room. I invited the woman to come in the room and see that we were not smoking. This harassment made us feel quite uncomfortable and we did not want to spend another dime of our hard-earned money padding the pockets of these dictators. We packed up all of our things and checked out that morning without even reserving backup accommodations, that is how desperate we were to get out of there (fortunately for us we found a delightful place to stay later that day). Their customer service is so nonexistent that they didn't even talk to us about why we were leaving or offer us anything to make up for the way we were treated. I have traveled extensively and never have I experienced a stay quite like this one. Hospitality is not a word in their vocabulary. Additionally, the sparse accommodations are not worth the price they charge for their rooms. You would be better of paying a bit more and staying at a bed and breakfast in the area.
Your typical East German ski chalet with breakfast food worse than that of the previous evening's Econolodge. Like clockwork a stoic blonde member of the secret police accused us of smoking on consecutive days at exactly 10:45 AM. We invited the inspector into our room. She had zero evidence and we just left and found better accommodations. They never followed up, apologized or anything of the sort. They claimed we were smoking because we were the "only ones there." Maybe we were actually the only people stupid enough to stay there. Sleeping in your car and waking up to a box of Cheerios beats this experience.
Had a great stay, everyone was nice, the room was clean and the bed was super comfy. They also broke typical policy and allowed me to book only one night, which was perfect for the wedding I attended down the road at the Inn at the Round Barn. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because it was, in my opinion, overpriced. The breakfast was less than continental and they don't have simple amenities like an ice machine (they have trays of ice in the shared fridge/freezer next to their vending machine). I'd stay there again, especially since they didn't rush us out the door after a very long night of celebrating our friends.
